The Car
Based on the DB9, the DBS replaces the Vanquish as the flagship vehicle from Aston Martin. Powered by a 6 litre V12, the car produces 510 horsepower. The bulk of the car is made from carbon fibre, to reduce weight, with the doors and roof made of aluminium. It was featured briefly in the James Bond film, Casino Royale, and then returned in the next instalment, Quantum of Solace.
The Model
This was built from the Tamiya 1:24 scale kit. It was built straight from the box, with the only addition being flocking to simulate the carpet. The exterior was painted with a custom mix of candy red, over a metallic blue base giving a unique colour that really sparkles in the light. The interior was painted red, with carbon fibre trim on the dash and centre console. Attention was paid to all areas of the model to detail as much as possible to reflect the original car.
