The Bike
Ducati introduced the Panigale with an 1198cc engine in Milan, with a view to using a racing version in the Superbike race series. At the time, this was the most powerful production twin cylinder motorcycle ever produced in the world, creating 195BHP, earning it impressive performance results, along with excellent reviews from the media.
The Model
This is built from the 1:12 Tamiya kit, with additions from the Hobby Design detail set and Tamiya front fork set, along with a Top Studio chain. Rather than going for a plain red, as was originally planned, I decided to go for the Tricolore scheme, using the decal set from Hobby Design. A lot of thought went into the process of making the chain work with the single-axle system used by Ducati. After market rivets were added to enhance the final look, along with an ignition key.
