The Truck
These trucks are designed and built to withstand the punishing Australian outback, covering great distances on rough, dusty roads. Some of the modifications include windscreen protection, additional, long-range fuel tanks, heavy duty wheels and additional driving lights. These are often called ‘trains’ due to pulling multiple trailers of various types. A lot of trucks are also individually customised by their owners.
The Model
This was built from the 1:24 scale Italeri kit. All the doors were cut out and hinges made which open and close to show the inside details. The paintwork was all done free hand with an airbrush. The truck was lightly weathered to reflect a real truck that had covered a few miles.
